Interlock Design Wins Award
The Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) is pleased to announce that the industry magazine, Interlock Design, won a bronze EXCEL award for Best Overall Redesign! The award was given by the Association of Media & Publishing to ICPI’s 20-year old publication. The national award is considered premiere recognition in the association publishing industry.
In its 33rd year, the EXCEL awards program received almost 1,000 entries and announced 166 winners, representing 83 nonprofit organizations and associations. Winners were selected for their exemplary work in contest categories including editorial, graphic design, advertising and marketing, online publishing, mobile applications, digital editions and electronic newsletter categories.
In 2012, ICPI hired content marketing firm GLC Custom Media based in Chicago to redesign the 24,000 circulation industry magazine. The magazine’s printed and online editions now enjoy eye-catching layout and editorial content that increases readers’ insights into design, construction and maintenance of interlocking concrete pavement and permeable interlocking concrete pavements. More importantly, the magazine presents creative and sustainable design ideas through highlighting unique commercial and residential projects. Interlock Design’s online version compliments the print magazine with up-to-date industry news, expanded technical content, in-depth articles on the latest industry trends and noteworthy projects.
“Interlock Design is visually more appealing and provides focused content for design professionals and contractors in printed and online formats” said ICPI Executive Director, Charles A. McGrath, CAE. “I am very proud our members, staff and GLC for their hard work and accomplishment resulting in this national recognition.”
ICPI and GLC attended the 33rd Annual EXCEL Awards Gala, which celebrates association media, on Monday, June 10, 2013, at the Omni Shoreham, Washington DC. Awards were given to those entries considered by peers to push the envelope further in an ever-changing publishing environment. Award winning entries will be featured in the September/October issue of Association Media & Publishing’s Signature magazine.
